Edgecliff Road
When we first visited Edgecliff Road, we were met with a very worn, 90-year-old apartment, sporting shocking blue carpet and an original, dated kitchen. But beyond that, we saw a diamond in the rough, an Art Deco gem quietly waiting to be returned to its former glory.
Small spaces can be some of the most challenging to design, but with a little bespoke intervention and exceptional craftsmanship, even a pint-sized abode can ooze both glamour and functionality. We transformed this aging Art Deco apartment into a luxurious abode for two with a hint of old-world glamour.
Our approach honoured the apartment's architectural heritage—restoring original features including curved walls, decorative cornices and geometric detailing—while introducing contemporary elements that enhance liveability. Bespoke joinery maximises every centimetre, creating seamless storage solutions that disappear into walls.
The palette draws inspiration from the building's 1930s origins—muted brass accents, rich timber tones, and softly veined marble—creating a sophisticated sanctuary that celebrates Sydney's architectural history while embracing modern living.
